Mazda to Showcase MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition Next Month in Chicago

Next month, the long-awaited Chicago Auto Show will be going down, and there’s expected to be quite a few unveilings and announcements. Among those unveilings, Mazda recently teased in an official press release, will be the 30th Anniversary Edition of the MX-5 Miata.

It’s a fitting venue for such a major reveal since the original MX-5 debuted at the Chicago Motor Show of 1989. Since then, the MX-5 Miata has gone on to be the best-selling roadster of all-time, quite a feat for a vehicle that’s only been around for 30 years.

The 2019 model has been the beneficiary of quite a few innovations, including a lighter weight thanks to an increased use of aluminum to maximize power and control. The car manages to get a near perfect 50/50 front-to-rear weight distribution, empowering drivers to own the road in front of them.

The Chicago Auto Show starts on February 7th and runs through the 18th. Mazda is also expected to have the latest models of the 3, 6, CX-3, CX-5, and CX-9 available for sale at the show, so if you’ve been thinking about upgrading and are a fan of everything Mazda, it’s the perfect opportunity.
